The Global City Project in Gurugram recieves Environmental Clearance from MoEF

The Global City Project in Gurugram has receives Environmental Clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF) as per the statement by the Haryana Government.

The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) is responsible for executing this project. A public notice regarding the environmental clearance of the project has also been published by HSIIDC.

The Global City Project will be launched in sectors 36B, 37A, and 37B on the recently opened Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram. It will have residential zones, industrial clusters, and commercial zones, spread across 1000 acres of land.

This will bring seamless growth at a faster pace of execution on the ground level. It will also help to associate more investors and development partners with the Global City project.

Under Phase 1, the development of infrastructure facilities like roads, electricity, water supply, and many more has been started by the Haryana government in the area earmarked for the project. It will be created on 587 acres of land by December 2026 at a tentative expenditure of Rs 940 Crores. Also, the tender for the first phase was awarded in September 2023.

The construction work will also include 13 km of internal roads, a 26 km long storm water drain network, around 12 km potable water network, a recycled water pipeline of 12 km, a landscape across 82 acres, and a 10 km utility tunnel.

This tunnel will be used for all types of utilities, including water, telecom, and electricity lines so, that there will be no need for road digging to attend to faults or upgrade the utility network in the future.

This project will enjoy excellent connectivity because the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and the Gurugram-Bawal metro corridor are likely to pass through the city.

It will also have Interstate and intercity bus terminals with dedicated pathways for walkers and cyclists to boost connectivity in the region.

As per the Officials, Global City is planned as a self-sufficient township that prioritizes modern technology and future-oriented industries, low carbon green infrastructure, ease of living, skilling of people, and employment generation.
